About Edgartown

Edgartown: Old World Appeal Meets New World Luxury

Edgartown is one of New England's most adored towns, and for good reason. Steeped in history, oozing with nautical charm, and buzzing with palpable energy all summer long, this beloved town is a worthwhile destination all in itself.

Just steps from the hotel you’ll find downtown Edgartown, a quaint New England village, which was once a major whaling port in the 1800s. Today reminders of its rich history dot the streets in the form of stately Federal and Greek Revival homes originally built for whaling captains of the time, and still lovingly maintained. The Edgartown Lighthouse, originally built in 1828, stands tall as an impressive and classic structure, open to the public in-season.

Spend a day walking the tree-lined streets, admiring the dignified architecture, well-curated shops, and world-class restaurants in your path. From small independent boutiques to well-known retailers including Vineyard Vines and Lululemon, Edgartown is a shopping lover's paradise.

When it comes to dining you’ll have your pick of upscale and casual establishments, and no trip to Edgartown is complete without enjoying a stroll along Edgartown Harbor. Catch a glimpse of the Chappaquiddick Ferry, or better yet plan a trip aboard, and visit the rural island of Chappaquiddick, lovingly referred to as “Chappy” to locals and visitors alike, known for its diverse wildlife and scenic beauty.

Outside of downtown Edgartown, discover the area known as Katama, where you can bike for miles, walk along the sprawling south shore and catch a glimpse at our iconic bi-planes overhead.

No matter where your travels in town take you, Edgartown is sure to impress even the most discerning traveler.
